This safari video was taken in SE Serengeti National Park and Ngrongoro Conservation Area in early February in the dry spell between the short and long rains. We stayed at Lemala Explorer camp which was very comfortable. The red flag 'A' on the map shows the general area of the safari.
This time of year coincides with the arrival of the great wildebeeste migration to the short grass plains in order to calve. We were also lucky enough to spot leopard, and saw numerous cheetahs and lions.
The area had received lower than usual rainfall and so a lot of the activity was within striking distance of the fresh water streams around Lake Ndutu.
The Maasai live in parts of the NCA but they help to safeguard the wildlife from poachers.
