This safari video was taken in Moremi Game reserve in late August in the dry season. However there is plenty of water in Moremi at this time of year as it is part of the Okavango delta. It is past peak floods of May-June so the water has started to receed, exposing a lot of flood plains.
The area we were in is approximately shown by the red elipse. Moremi is outlined in orange and the Okavango delta in blue.
Game viewing was good, with a wide variety of mammals and birds due to the varying habitats. At this time of year there is an influx of game from the surrounding areas that are rapidly drying out as the temperatures increase.
The red lechwe is one of the noteable animals of the area.
